Katherine Arthur has over 25 years of teaching experience, is on the faculty at Cal Poly State University Music Department, and was also on the Music Department faculty at UCSB. She lived, taught, performed, and recorded in Germany and Austria from 1997-2002, during which she became fluent in the German language. She is also a certified Alexander Technique teacher and is the founder of the Singing Institute.
Katherine Arthur has appeared in Music Festivals and Liederabende across the U.S. and Europe. She has performed and recorded with the Southwest Chamber Music Ensemble, Deutschlandfunk, and Orfeo records. Her opera roles include the Countess, Musetta, and a leading role in an international world premiere.
In addition to teaching at Cal Poly, Katherine also teaches singing classes at the San Luis Coastal Adult School for which she has organized and performed in many fundraising concerts in the San Luis Obispo area. Current concert information is shown below.
